Viking Cup History
The Viking Cup started in 1990. During the following years, more teams joined from other Asian countries and visiting teams from other continents at times.
The teams were from the beginning Viking teams with a majority of Danish players who as expats in Asia had found a common interest. The core was established and the Danish history / traditions and desire to mix soccer and social atmosphere in a good spirit has stayed and flourishes still.
Players and teams are inviting family and friends to the Viking Cup. Many Danes and Viking supporters take the trip across continents to participate in famous event.
We have also often experienced 3 generations enjoying the tournament - Grandparents coming out to visit and support and enjoy the event. We have in several cases also seen 2 generations playing alongside each other on teams.
